Hobbs of Henley Gin Box
We were introduced to Hobbs via their design agency who we have worked with previously on a number of packaging projects. Hobbs are not only a boating family with 150 years of boating experience and able to trace their family back to 1490, but they are also Henley’s award winning artisan gin distillers, offering a classic London Dry Gin. Owners Jonnie and Suzy felt that such a great town deserved its own collection of gins.
They required our help with a packaging solution for 1,000 of their gin bottles with a 2-3 week timeline. From the initial contact it was explained that the client had purchased packaging in the past but they had found it a painful and difficult experience. We took the project a step at a time and broke down each stage to ensure the client understood the process from end to end.
Like most packaging projects we received samples of the content which allowed us to create a white sample for approval at which time we also released the artwork template to the design agency to complete. They already knew exactly how they wanted the design to look so this was a seamless process. Their designer mentioned possible spot UV over the text areas on the box and once we costed this in the client liked the idea and went for it.
The sample was approved and artwork received so production could begin. The gin box was completed using 650 micron folding box board printed full colour to 1 side only with matt lamination and 25% Spot UV. The boxes were made fully bespoke for their gin bottles with a tuck in flap.
The client was extremely happy with how the project was managed and the look and feel of the packaging worthy of a quintessential English gin, classic with grandeur.
You can get your very own on their website or look out for it in local stockists in Henley.
